Sonali and I went on a bit of a baby shower marathon and did both the family and friends baby showers on the same weekend.

Indian baby-showers include some cultural aspects, including a small prayer to the god Ganesh (aka the Lord of Beginnings), placing of gifts in a special cloth to symbolize fertility, giving the bundles back and forth to symbolize family bonds, and spreading of red powder for blessings and celebration.

The friends shower was just really an excuse to have a big party, show off the nursery, and have some fun before we become parents of a newborn (instead of a dog). Our friends Kathy and Angie did a great job putting it all together.

Thanks everyone that was able to make it, including those that were there in spirit only. We really appreciated everyone taking the time to share this occasion with us.
